YOUTH TESTING

Youth Martial Arts Parents!

Below are the details in regards to Youth Martial Arts testing! Remember, it is your responsibility to stay up-to-date on all the happenings with Youth Martial Arts at Central PA Mixed Martial Arts. It is important that you read the details below.

DETAILS

1. Students continue to come to their normally scheduled classes. If your child is a current student, they are tested unless…

a. If your white belt child started classes less than four weeks before pretesting, they are considered a “Head Start Kid” and will not be testing.

b. If your child is a “Mighty Mite (3 years old)” there is no testing. They simply come to their regularly scheduled class to receive their new belt.

2. No parents/family in the building for pre-testing and testing.

3. Fundamental YMA Students must attend a minimum of 4 classes per month, per quarter or 12 classes total for the semester in order to test.

4. Intermediate/Advanced Students must attend a minimum of 6 classes per month, per quarter or 18 classes total for the semester in order to test.

5. Pre-Test & Test week is included in the total classes needed to test.

TESTING SCHEDULE

Regardless of what day or time your child comes to during the week they will simply continue to come to their normally scheduled classes during pre-test & test. If your child can’t come to one or two of the classes during pre-test/test week we will count their other two classes as their test. If they will miss three or more classes in the two weeks of pre-testing and testing we can discuss doing a makeup test.

Your child will “simply continue coming to their normally scheduled class.”

Your child will wear their Youth Martial Arts uniform to Belt Presentations.
**Belt Presentation replaces all classes for that day. There are no normal classes during a Belt Presentation day.**

If your child cannot attend a Belt Presentation they will get their belt in their next class.

WINTER TESTING:
December 4th-16th, 2023 – PRE-TESTING & TESTING

December 16th, 2023 – BELT PRESENTATION (6:30pm) @ Christian Missionary Alliance Church

December 18th, 2022 – January 1st, 2024– Winter Break NO YMA CLASSES

Classes resume on January 2nd, 2024.

SPRING TESTING:
March 2nd-9th – NO YMA CLASSES (Spring Break)

March 11th – March 23rd– PRE-TESTING & TESTING

March 25th- March 27th- New Belts Handed Out During Normal Classes

March 28th – March 30 NO YMA CLASSES

SUMMER TESTING:
June 3rd – June 15th, 2024– PRE-TESTING & TESTING

Monday, June 17th, 2024 BELT PRESENTATION:
(Location and Time TBD)
*THERE ARE NO YOUTH CLASSES THIS DAY*

June 17th through June 29th, 2024- NO YMA CLASSES

Classes resume on July 1st, 2024

FALL TESTING:
September 5th, 2023 through September 9th, 2023 – PRE-TESTING

September 11th, 2023 through September 16th, 2023 – TESTING

September 18th, 19th, and 20th 2022- BELT PRESENTATION (In Your Child’s Class at CPAMMA)

Classes resume on September 21st

TESTING RULES

Students wear entire YMA uniform and bringing their necessary equipment to class.
Parents are NOT allowed to attend pre-testing or testing.
Make sure that your children are well hydrated and have gone to the bathroom before they line up to come out onto the mat for class.

*If your child does not pass we will touch base. No need to email/call asking if they passed. We will only charge your account for testing if your child passed the test.*

COST

Testing carries a fee of $35 for Youth Martial Arts. Testing fees will be charged to the account you have on file at the gym automatically. If you wish to pay for the test by check or cash you may do so but it must be paid for beforehand. If your child came to pre-test and not test it will be considered their test and your account will be charged accordingly.

**IF YOUR CHILD CANNOT ATTEND A TESTING DATE DUE TO A CONFLICT YOU CAN SCHEDULE A PRIVATE LESSON BEFORE THE BELT CEREMONY TO MAKE UP THE TEST. PRIVATE LESSONS WILL CARRY AN ADDITIONAL FEE.**

**IF YOUR CHILD CANNOT COME TO THE BELT PRESENTATION THEY WILL GET THEIR BELT IN THEIR NEXT CLASS OF THE FOLLOWING SEMESTER**

**If you do not want your child to test, you need to let CPAMMA by emailing info@cpamma.com BEFORE Pre-Testing. Understand that not testing will forgo your child moving to the next belt level. If this is the case CPAMMA will not charge you a testing fee.**
