HOW TO CLEAN YOUR EQUIPMENT

GLOVES:

If you use the Washable Striking Fight Gear Gloves they are just that; washable!  We have had students report that they have washed their gloves up to 250 times before the gloves started to break down from being washed so many times.  We recommend washing your gloves each week or so.  Make sure to attach the wrist strap to the velcro so it does not get stuck to other things in the wash.  The gloves have foam in them so they will rise to the top if you use a top loading washer so a front loading washer is recommended.

ALL OTHER PADS:

For Elbow pads, Knee, pads, and all other pads, we recommend wiping them down with clorox wipes after EVERY USE.

GIS & APPAREL:

Jiu-Jitsu Gis & all other apparel should be washed after EVERY USE.  We recommend doing a heavy cycle with detergent and a splash of vinegar for every wash.  Don’t worry, your wash will not smell like vinegar afterward.  DO NOT go without washing your Gis and apparel.  Wash after EVERY USE.–This includes your belt!

GROIN CUPS:

Groin Cups can go in the wash just like everything else but refrain from putting them in the dryer!

GYM BAGS:

We recommend ONLY putting clean equipment, apparel, gis, etc. in a gym bag.  REMEMBER:  If you put dirty equipment and Gis, etc. in a gym bag, then put clean apparel and equipment back in the dirty gym bag, the clean stuff, IS NOW DIRTY.

If you have a dirty Gi or choose not to clean your equipment after you are done, refrain from putting it back in a clean gym bag.  Also avoid putting shoes, flip flops and other foot attire in a bag!

BONUS:

Avoid putting your clean equipment, Gis, etc. on dirty car and house floors.  Putting your equipment on dirty surfaces dirties the equipment!

Also avoid putting dirty shoes with your clean equipment and apparel.
