Mr. Gruhn Brings Home 1st Place! – MD Open 2005

On April 3rd, 2005, Mr. Gruhn fought in the first national championship under the World Kali Federation in Baltimore, Maryland. He brought home first place in the advanced Full Contact Stickfighting division! Aside from Full Contact Stickfighting, the event consisted of a plethora of martial arts competitions such as Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Weapons Forms. Guro Dan Inosanto and Grandmaster Leo Gaje were two of Mr. Gruhn’s judges, along with “Sled Dog” an original Dog Brother, as his referee. The fight lasted a round and half with Mr. Gruhn ending the fight 20 seconds into the second round with a series of knees to his opponent.
